when you wrote "way up North" I thought it was going to be Canada. Missouri / Arkansas, that's way down south.

Not a quonset hut and not quite a barn, but I want it round by farmgate, on Flickr laziness is the mother of invention

Brewswane, I've always been bothered by barns that were allowed to fall into a state of disrepair and even demolish. I maybe can understand a tiny bit in states that have high tax rates but many states are very forgiving. I love architecture and enjoy seeing and old straight barn that has been taken care of but also like to look at barns that once were. Thanks for all the photos of the old barns, Mike

Thank you for the comments. I agree with you. Both of my grandparents had big barns and I began looking up when I was a kid. I always wanted to see how they were put together. I am making a new pole barn with trusses and metal walls----Boring! I dont think There was ever two old barns that were the same. I pass an old barn that I admire and recently saw that it has collapsed. I plan to get pictures and will ask if I can disassemble it and haul it off to be recycled.

Always love to see the old barns no matter the condition. Thanks for posting pics Neighbor. I am always amazed how long they can stand with no maintenance. Roof gone, sides gone, and still just solderer on. Slowly melting away. I have known a few who tried to just pull the old frames down and found out that there was still a lot of strength in the old waterlogged beams. Quite the job to get them on the ground. Probably the reason we see so many just left to fall down slowly. Shame. Piece of history gone for good. J.

Not sure I would park my Model A, or anything else, under that.
