So last weekend saw good weather being literally blown out to be replace with freezing cold weather. The wind was like a hurricane. Friends came to visit on Sunday and one couple had never been there before so we took a tour of the property. Lucky we did because I would not have seen the damaged being caused by the rotten boards on the corner of the apple shed gargage allowing the roof to lift and twist. It caused the old brittle metal to crack and may have just been ripped off if I didnt repair it. Here is what I did. Good for another 20 years lol put new metal under the crack and added a new board for extra support . It extends out the the edge of the roof so it wont move any more the crack tied the new board to the old rotten one and to the roof. Used self sealing screws and it is very secure now.

Looks like a sturdy repair...beats putting on a whole new roof.

BSA: Looking good. Should hold for a few more years at least. Water is the worst enemy of these old structures. Keep em dry, and they will last forever. Doesn't look like yours has been wet underneath for any time.
