Thanks, Mike. I can't wait to make some progress on "projects" like your truck and early Ford!! At the moment, I'm moving my stuff from a house we sold to the workshop/garage. Not much room left for my toys. . . . Tarnished suggested that I plant a tree to "ground" my well house. So, I picked up about 60 pine seedlings and a handfull of small hardwoods to follow his instructions. I doubt that many will survive in our "dirt". Well, I said they were "small"; you really have to look hard to see them.

Nice Job Mack. You or your family will really appreciate your efforts 40 years from now!!! Are trees from area county soil & water? I have planted numerous packages of these, and if 1-2 survive the deer, I feel lucky. But If I don't plant them.... Who Will?? Nothing like the sound of wind thru an old pine... Aaaaahhhhhh!!! Know what a bear moving can be! Don't envy ya. Don't want to see what happens round here when I have to do the next one... LOL! Keep taking pics, love looking at your barn. John

Any further work on barn has slowed to less than a crawl -- the framing has started on the house! This is current status (from across the slough):

Mack, I didn't realize this was going to be an educational post...well at least for me anyway (I had to look up the definition for Slough) LOL The house is important too! Everything looking fantastic. I had to build my house first and then wait for the garage/workshop and then barn. Took over 15 years and I'm still trying to get it all done. Keep up the good work! Mike, I don't think the realtors would appreciate me calling that body of water a "slough", they like "cove". But, I didn't think it was big enough to deserve the full "cove" descriptor. Frankly, I've been pleased that this relatively small arm of Lake Wylie has stayed pretty clear -- not stagnant. Yes, the house is important, too. We're pretty exicted about it "getting off of the ground floor", so to speak.
